About Wegovy
Wegovy contains semaglutide at a higher dose (up to 2.4 mg) than Ozempic and is specifically licensed in the Netherlands for the treatment of obesity. It acts on the GLP-1 receptor: less hunger, feeling full sooner, slower stomach emptying — an average of 12-15% weight loss in a year.
At Go Leaner, a BIG-registered doctor only prescribes Wegovy when the medical indication is right: obesity (BMI ≥ 30) or overweight (BMI ≥ 27) with a comorbidity such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea. During your programme, your weight, blood values and side effects are checked regularly — no repeat prescriptions without a check-up.

Our clinic
Many of our Wegovy patients come from Amstelveen, Amsterdam-Zuid and Buitenveldert. The clinic is next to Stadshart Amstelveen, close to the A9 (exits S108/S109) and reachable by metro 51 and bus 199, with free parking outside the door. During your intake we check your blood values and the doctor discusses whether Wegovy or an alternative best suits your situation.
Consultations and intakes take place at our clinic at Escapade 1, 1183 NM Amstelveen; interim follow-ups can be done by video consultation.

Personal consultation at the clinic or by video. We go through your medical history, measure your blood pressure and order blood tests where relevant.
If approved, you receive a personalised Wegovy schedule, a dedicated lifestyle coach and your first prescription.
Coaching sessions, weight check and side-effect monitoring. Blood tests after 3-6 months for long-term safety.

In most cases, no — Wegovy prescribed off-label for weight loss is not covered by Dutch basic health insurance. You may sometimes be able to reclaim part of it through your employer's benefits budget or supplementary insurance. See our Wegovy cost page for details.
